Magnitude 5.1 quake hits Burgos, Ilocos Norte

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Burgos, Ilocos Norte on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The earthquake, which occurred at 1:51 p.m., had its epicenter at 18.61°N, 120.28°E - 040 km N 74° W of Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
It had a depth of one km and was tectonic in origin.
The quake was also felt in the following areas:
- Intensity IV- Pagudpud, Bangui, Sarrat, San Nicolas, Pasuquin, Bacarra, City of Laoag, Carasi, Burgos, and City of Batac, llocos Norte
- Intensity III - Paoay, Dumalneg, Vintar, and Dingras, Ilocos Norte
- Intensity II - Pinili, Piddig, Carasi, Badoc, Currimao, Nueva Era, and Marcos, Ilocos Norte
- Intensity I - Sinait, Ilocos Sur
PHIVOLCS said it is not expecting any damage from the earthquake, but aftershocks are possible.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF/BAP, GMA Integrated News
