Can we touch clouds? Kuya Kim answers
A video uploaded by an overseas Filipino worker visiting Iceland amazed social media users after what appeared to be clouds seemingly took over and covered her entire body.
Netizens couldn't help but ask, what did the clouds feel like?
According to Kuya Kim's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, it is possible for us to touch clouds. They are ice crystals or water droplets that are so light they can stay in the air, but they do not feel like cotton or cotton candy.
"Clouds, wala siyang physical surface so it will just disperse," said Karl Patrick Casas, head of Cebu Normal University Atmospheric Physics Laboratory.
Clouds also appear white because they reflect sunlight when it hits their surface.
When it rains, the water vapor clumps together to form raindrops. Hence, the sunlight is less reflected. This is also the reason why, when it rains, we see the sky as gray.
In the video shared by OFW Judith Salada, however, the cloud-like fog was actually mist from the hot spring where she walked.
