Squawk! Angry Birds cookbook out

Gamers wondering how Angry Birds taste like may soon get an idea, after the company behind the massively popular game released the franchise's first official cookbook.

The cookbook, titled "Angry Birds: Bad Piggies’ Egg Recipes," features characters from the game, tech site Mashable reported Thursday.

Egg recipes include breakfast dishes such as omelets, egg sandwiches, desserts such as souffle, and even egg sushi.

"The cookbook is more likely a way to bring kids and parents together to make some fun, non-threatening recipes. It’s also a good way to cash in on Angry Birds‘s tremendous popularity," Mashable said.

Bright illustrations by Pasi Pitkanen and tongue-in-cheek recipe names such as “Ice, Ice Baby” for a sorbet recipe will likely appeal to the young, it added.

It noted the book, the latest in a recent wave of Angry Birds merchandise such as plush toys and accessories, costs a little over $10 on Amazon.

Mashable said the cookbook was released at Nokia House, a pop-up shop in London showcasing Nokia’s first Windows Phone.
