Skype users warned vs fake vouchers
Skype users were warned against visiting a fake domain claiming to offer Skype "vouchers" but will attempt to inject malware into a visitor's computer.
GFI Labs said the website skypevouchers.com has a "questionable" iframe tag that may lead to a Malaysian baby wear site injected with malicious code.
"Both Java exploits take advantage of the vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) component in Oracle," it said.
The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) component allows untrusted Java apps and applets to affect confidentiality and integrity.
According to GFI, skypevouchers.com had been around since 2006, registered by someone in Estonia.
"It doesn’t have much of a 'landing page' now since it mostly does redirects," it said.
"Be careful when searching the Web for free Skype vouchers. You might land on places with things you’re less than willing to bargain for," it added. — TJD, GMA News
