Will Google's first Nexus tablet featuring the latest flavor of its Android operating system be an Asus Nexus 7?

An article posted Wednesday night on tech site T3 said Google may provide the answer at its I/O conference next week.

"Tipped to launch the device as an Android-optimized piece of hardware, the reportedly titled Asus Nexus 7 has long been a thing of rumor and speculation with previous reports suggesting the Amazon Kindle Fire competitor will boast a 7-inch form factor and the company’s upcoming Android 5.0 Jelly Bean operating system," it said.

It added the Nexus 7 is rumored to be sporting a price tag below $200.

Also, it said other rumors suggested Google’s upcoming I/O conference will see the tech giant enter the tablet fray for the first time.

The Nexus 7 is expected to boast a 1280 x 960p resolution display, and may mark Google's first partnership for a Nexus-themed device.

It added the Asus Nexus 7 is expected to be unveiled between June 27th and 29th.
