New Google+ app allows 'professional' broadcasts in Hangouts

Users of Google's social network Google+ can now produce more professional-looking broadcasts with a new app which it aptly called "Cameraman." Google's Matthew Leske said the app may come in handy when giving a presentation through Google+'s "Hangout" videoconferencing feature. "This app lets you control when specific guests appear to your viewers, so you can introduce someone before they appear in your live broadcast, or hide someone after you've interviewed them," Leske said in a post. He said one can hide someone from one's viewers by clicking the video mute icon below the person's video feed. People who are grayed out won't be seen by the public. A Google+ user can show someone in his or her broadcast by clicking the video mute icon again. "You can also select that new guests who join your hangout are hidden by default. To change the default settings click the Cameraman app in in the toolbar," Leske said. A separate article on The Next Web said the app may come in handy for people doing interviews, shows and concerts using Hangouts on Google+, then publishing them to YouTube. "Sometimes people talk too much, and that’s where something like this is helpful," it noted. — LBG, GMA News
