Windows 8-powered Nokia Lumia pics leaked online

Apple isn't the only smartphone maker whose upcoming products are getting leaked online.

Over the weekend, leaked photos of Nokia's upcoming Lumia 920 and 820 phones, running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8, were posted online.

The new WP8 phones supposedly feature Nokia's PureView imaging technology, according to a report on tech site CNET.

CNET cited a photo posted by Twitter user "Evleaks," who claimed it is a 4.5-inch Nokia Lumia 920 with PureView:

"The image shows three Lumia 920s -- one in gray, another in yellow, and the last in red -- that have three buttons underneath the display. They appear to be running Windows Phone," CNET said.

PureView is an imaging technology that can capture up to 41 megapixels of digital information.

Another leak from Evleaks showed an image of a Lumia 820 boasting a 4.3-inch screen (https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/241483427189248000), CNET said.

A separate article on T3.com said the Lumia 820 was spotted in a series of hands-on snaps, just hours after promo shots of the device wound up on Twitter.

"It comes after details of the new flagship Lumia 920 were also leaked," it said.

T3.com noted Nokia and Microsoft are holding a joint event in New York on September 5 to showcase the new Lumia range.
