The launch of the mobile app for the government's Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) has been postponed for a week, the program's head said Thursday night.
Project NOAH head Mahar Lagmay said the postponement was upon the request of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
"The DOST Project Noah Mobile app official launch is rescheduled for next week, as requested by PAGASA," he said.
He did not elaborate, however.
Project NOAH's app had promised to let Filipinos on the go check information on rain or flooding on smartphones or tablets running Google's Android OS.
Currently available in beta, the app is a mobile version of the Project NOAH website (noah.dost.gov.ph) though without the Flood Map features yet.
Its features include:
Map View

- Overview (MTSAT, Rainfall Contour, Chance of Rain, etc)
- Doppler (Subic, Tagaytay, Cebu, Hinatuan)
- Sensors (Weather Stations, Stream Gauges, Rain Gauges)
- Weather Outlook (Probablity of Rain, PAGASA Typhoon Forecast)
List View
- Almost same with Map View but presented as list for ease of use.
News

Also available from the app are status notifications for "Probability of Rain."
It also allows a user to share screenshots or text contents to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Bluetooth, or Gmail.
The app also supports animated overlays (MTSAT, Doppler, Chance of Rain) and has "very flexible Settings."
Lagmay said a version for iOS is still "under development" and should be out before Christmas Day. — TJD, GMA News
