Injustice: Gods Among Us adds Aquaman, Sinestro, and Hawkgirl to its roster

The pieces are being set for a grand battle between some of the world’s greatest superhuman forces, as Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios reveal more fan favorites joining the roster of their upcoming new DC Comics fighting game – Injustice: Gods Among Us. Many new characters like Nightwing and Harley Quinn were announced earlier, and mid-February also saw the inclusion of the King of the Seven Seas himself, Aquaman! Known also by his real name Arthur Curry and being the crowned king of Atlantis, Aquaman has been one of the most well known characters in comic book history, though not always for the best of reasons. Ridiculed for years thanks to a misconception of his powers, the character has seen a sudden resurgence and popularity spike thanks to his new solo comic book series by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis in DC Comics “New 52” Universe. Now this founding member of the Justice League steps into the world of Injustice: Gods Among Us, where both heroes and villains are feared and a superhero civil war is waged with humanity caught right in the middle. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Injustice: Gods Among Us spares no expense in making sure the threat is not limited to superhumans living on Earth alone. Two more characters were recently revealed to be included in the game: Sinestro and Hawkgirl. As a former mentor to Hal Jordan himself, Sinestro became one the most feared enemies of the Green Lantern Corps, adopting a yellow power ring and starting his own “Sinestro Corps” in the process. His resolve to instill a dictatorship based on order is what puts him at odds with his former protégé. As an ally of Hawkman, Hawkgirl also exhibits the same powers and weaponry as her occasional lover and partner. Her fierceness in battle brings much needed brawn and strength to the game. Furthermore, the conflict in Injustice: Gods Among Us puts her at odds with teammates and friends alike.
