Chrome can't connect to Google sites? Try this temp fix

For many users, the latest version of Google's Chrome browser appears to have problems connecting to —of all places— Google sites.

Users aired their frustrations on Google's product forums where some reported encountering an "Error 15" message as early as March.

"When I go to Google.com, it shows this 'Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error.' It sometimes works after a while but it's been happening for the last week," said user k7001.

The problem appeared to affect Chrome version 26.0.1410.28.

Google's Div V. replied to the post early last Tuesday (Manila time), acknowledging the problem as a "known issue we're working on."

"The issue you are discussing is a known issue that we're working on. We'll update you when we have more information. Thanks for your patience," she said.

For now, a solution by "SonicSam" appeared to work - going to chrome://net-internals/ and the Sockets tab, then clicking "Flush socket pools" and "Close idle sockets." — TJD, GMA News
