Google brings full-screen browsing, cloud printing to iOS
Owners of Apple iPhones using Google's Chrome for iOS browser can look forward to new goodies such as full-screen browsing and cloud-based printing.
Google said its updated Chrome for iOS app also allows saving any web page in PDF format to Google Drive, its cloud-based storage service.
A description of the updated app —version 26.0.1410.50 on Apple's App Store— said other features include:
- Quickly re-accessing the omnibox by scrolling back down
- Printing web pages with Google Cloud Print or AirPrint
- Stability and security improvements and bug fixes
The app weighs in at 20.7 MB and can work with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The app is optimized for the iPhone 5's longer screen.
However, a separate article on tech site The Next Web said the new app will not use Google’s new engine Blink, "as Apple’s rules on iOS prevent that, at least for now." — TJD, GMA News
