More plants, more zombies: PvZ sequel out in July!
More plants, more zombies!
After four years of waiting, the next chapter of the hit game "Plants vs Zombies" will finally be here in July, developer PopCap has announced.
"The sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is expected to launch by late spring 2013, and will include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise's tens of millions of fans around the world," PopCap, now owned by giant game publisher Electronic Arts, said in an announcement posted on gaming site Joystiq.com.
But PopCap quoted an "unidentified spokesman" as saying spring is not a good time for plants, which grow dull roots a this time of the year.
"So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan... we're freee anytime. We'll find you," the spokesman said.
But PopCap also quoted Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation, as saying there was a time they relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies in the morning.
"But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!" Lower said.
Meanwhile, a separate report on tech site The Verge said the coming game will be dubbed "Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time," and may arrive in July.
It noted the original game debuted as a PC and OS X game in May 2009, and has been ported over to iOS, Android, Chrome, Xbox 360, the Nintendo DS, Sony's PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and even Samsung's Bada operating system.
"The first Plants vs. Zombies title is one of the most successful games to ever come out of PopCap (it's the 12th most downloaded paid iOS app ever), and a big reason why gaming behemoth Electronic Arts bought the PopCap in 2011 for $650 million and $100 million in stock," it added. — TJD, GMA News
