Upcoming LEGO movie's trailer teases audiences
Get ready for the world's greatest heroes all assembled—literally—in one movie.
These heroes, all in minifigure form, appear in a two-minute YouTube trailer for "The Lego Movie," which producers say will be in theaters on February 7, 2014.
But there's nothing mini about the celebrities who will provide their voices: Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie, with Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.
The movie is touted as the "first-ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure," directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
The film follows Emmet, "an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world."
Emmet is then "drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared."
Among the minifigure heroes who appear in the trailer are Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, the Green Ninja from Ninjago, Mermaid, "1980-something space guy," Michaelangelo the Ninja Turtle, and even the 2002 NBA All-Stars.
A separate article on Mashable said this could be the first foray of the popular construction toys into the world of motion pictures.
The article also had embedded the two-minute official trailer, which surfaced online last Tuesday. —VC, GMA News
