Photos of LG's next Optimus phone leaked online

One month before LG's next flagship smartphone makes its official debut, its photos had already been leaked online, a tech site reported Wednesday.

Engadget reported the Android-powered Optimus G2 appears to take cues from the rounded-edge design of the LG-made Google Nexus 4 device.

"[T]he purported G2's 5.2-inch, 1080p display is surrounded by very little bezel, making it appear near edge-to-edge," it said.

It also said LG is foregoing the three capacitive Android navigation buttons on the original G, in favor of an onscreen arrangement similar to stock Android.

Citing its tipster, Engadget also said the G2 will have a 2.3-GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM.

It also said new leaked photos of the G2's settings menu indicate it will go to carrier Sprint and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

On the other hand, it cited a video indicating the phone is "very comfortable" and a bit thinner than the Nexus 4. — VC, GMA News
