Grand Theft Auto V rolls out Sept. 17

Game publisher and distributor X-Play Online Games Inc. said the fifth incarnation of the popular "Grand Theft Auto" video game series will launch on September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

"Touted to be the biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created, GTA V introduces a bold new direction in storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer Set at the sprawling sun-soaked metropolis of Los Santos, what was once the envy of the Western world is now plagued with self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV," it said.

Players can pre-order a copy through online game-shopping  site Gamers.PH, and have their copies delivered for free on launch day.

They can also get a free limited edition poster and access to travel in style in the Atomic Blimp.

“We are very excited to launch GTA V in the country. Fans have a lot to look forward to with this continuing saga, with the game’s many exciting and explosive features, including new ways of players to repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game’s three lead characters, playing all sides of the game’s interwoven story,” said Boni Ong, X-Play VP of Sales and Distribution.

Players can assume the role of three criminals who work their minds for survival and success: Franklin, a street hustler looking for real opportunities and serious money; Michael, a professional ex-con; and Trevor, a violent maniac. — ELR, GMA News
