Pinoy comics artist Arnold Arre teases 'Milky Boy' animated film

Filipino comic book artist Arnold Arre, best known for his award-winning Mythology Class graphic novels, has just released a teaser for an upcoming animated short film entitled, "Milky Boy".

"The story is inspired by TV commercials featuring child endorsers that I used to see back when I was a kid myself. I’ve always wondered about how their lives are when they’re no longer famous. Are they happy? How did the TV stint affect their lives?" Arre wrote in his blog.

"I’ve had the idea since 1994 and it was supposed to be the second act of a yet-unpublished three-part anthology titled 'Sell the Nation' that I was planning back then. Fast forward to the future — I decided to update the story and make it into an animated film. One thing I realized about animation is that there are almost no limits to what you can do!" he added.

The short features some familiar voice talents, including Mihk Vergara, Yvette Tan, Denise Mallabo, Chris Costello, Miguel Nacianceno, RJ Ledesma, and Gang Badoy.

The story, illustrations, sound editing, music scoring, art direction, and animation are all by Arre himself, with Cynthia Arre credited as line producer.

"As of now I don't have any information on public screenings yet. Maybe next year," Arre told GMA News. — TJD, GMA News
