Blackberry exec: BBM for iPhone now under review by Apple

Users of Apple's iPhone who want to use BlackBerry's Messenger (BBM) app may get their wish quite soon, if a BlackBerry executive's tweet is any indication.

BlackBerry Senior Strategic Account Manager Alex Kinsella said Saturday (Philippine time) the BBM for iPhone had been submitted for review.

"Just in case we forgot to mention, BBM for iPhone was submitted for review two weeks ago," he said in a post on his Twitter account.

But a separate report on tech site Engadget said the ball is now in Apple's hands.

Also, Engadget noted rumors of a BBM for iOS had surfaced before Google launched its standalone Maps app for Apple devices.

It added there have been recent "accidental leaks and video previews of the Android version." — VC, GMA News
