BlackBerry Messenger still up for Windows Phone 8
Unlike some developers that neglect to make versions of their apps for Windows Phone 8, BlackBerry is coming up with a version of its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app for Microsoft's platform, an Indian tech site reported.
The Mobile Indian said BBM creator Gary Klassen hinted at this on the sidelines of a recent event in Hong Kong.
"BBM will not be limited to just Android or iOS. We are open to other platforms also. We want more are more people to enjoy and experience BBM," The Mobile Indian quoted Klassen as saying.
Klassen also said BBM is still looking into the botched rollout of the BBM app for Google's Android and Apple's iOS.
BBM had pulled out its app after noticing an earlier unreleased version had been rolled out.
"We are still probing the issue and we are working on to address all the identified bottleneck as we want Android and iOS users of BBM to have a good experience when it is made available,” Klassen said.
A separate report on T3.com noted that while Klassen did not specifically mention Windows Phone, Microsoft's mobile OS is now the largest mobile OS without BBM. — TJD, GMA News
