UK firm makes bark-activated washing machine
A United Kingdom laundry company has built what it called the world's first bark-activated washing machine, to help people with disabilities wash their clothes.
The machine, aptly dubbed "Woof to Wash," lets trained assistance dogs open and close the door on the machine, then start the washing cycle with a "Woof!"
"We developed this machine because mainstream products with complex digital controls seldom meet the needs of the disabled user," said inventor John Middleton of JTM.
According to JTM, "Woof to Wash" has "captured the hearts of millions of people globally."
The video showed golden labrador Support Dog Duffy activating the specially crafted washing machine.
A separate article on Design Taxi said the dog can unlock the machine by pressing a foot pad, and open the machine door by using their mouths to pull the attached rope.
The dogs can load the machine and close the door with their noses, then bark to activate.
"The machine would automatically add the measured amount of detergent from its storage bottle, as needed for the load," it said. — ELR, GMA News
