'Mister Krabs' joins World of Warcraft movie cast

He may not quite be the Lich King, but it looks like "Mister Krabs" could give Bolvar Fordragon a run for his ice-cold money.

Clarence Brown III, a.k.a. Clancy Brown, has been tapped to join the cast of the upcoming World of Warcraft movie, Legendary Pictures said on its Twitter account.

Brown is better known as the voice behind Captain Eugene Harold "Armor Abs" Krabs, or Mister Krabs.

An article on Joystiq.com said the Warcraft film may be an origin story, and is based in the timeline of the First and Second Wars.

It added this will not be Brown's first "War-rodeo."

"(H)e voiced the orc Thrall in the canceled Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans game, and also played Scourgelord Tyrranus in the World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King," it said.

Meanwhile, Digital Trends said the Warcraft film seems to be "well on track" to meet its March 11, 2016 release date.

It said Brown and Wu will now join a cast that includes:

  • Travis Fimmel (Vikings)
  • Ben Foster (Lone Survivor)
  • Toby Kebbell (War Horse)
  • Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim)
  • Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger)
  • Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol)

"Universal and Legendary Pictures seem to be sticking with the strategy of casting talented, but lesser known actors. With the exception of Brown – who is already well established after an impressive career – all the actors cast so far are definitely up and comers," it added.

The article also said the story of Warcraft will focus on the first meetings of orcs and humans, and both sides will be shown as equals.

Digital Trends noted Brown is known for his decades of on-screen and voice work on film and TV, while Wu is known for his roles in Europa Report and The Man With the Iron Fists. — TJD, GMA News
