Google makes managing contacts easier for Android users

Now, users of devices running Google's Android will have an easier time managing important contacts in Google services.

In a Google+ post, the Internet giant said users can star individuals in their Google Contacts lists and these will be synced.

"Just like how you can star important messages in your inbox, you can now star individuals in your Google Contacts list. Contacts you star will automatically be placed into the 'Starred' group so you can quickly and easily look up their information," it said.

For Android users, Google said Starred contacts will stay in sync with their Android Favorites.
On the other hand, starring a contact on desktop will star that same person in one's Android contacts, and vice-versa, "so you can see and manage your contacts seamlessly wherever you may be."

A separate report on The Next Web said there’s "still a bit of effort involved as you have to keep your starred/favorites list updated."

"With today’s additions, Google is making sure the user has control: if you don’t want to favorite anyone, you don’t have to. The side benefit is the company avoids potential privacy complaints regarding contact lists being shared without permission," it added. — KDM, GMA News
