Chinese phone cloner makes knockoff of newest Galaxy phone

It took just two days for this knock-off to exist. Engadget.com
Remember the Chinese cloner that rolled out a knockoff of Apple's iPhone? It's at it again, this time making a cheap copy of Apple rival Samsung's newest Galaxy smartphone.
Goophone needed just 48 hours to make a copy of Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone - down to the knockoff's name, tech site Engadget reported.
"It's available in white, black, gold or blue and is priced at $300, making it the ideal companion for your Lucci bag, Tammy Hilfinger shirt and Seanheiser headphones," Engadget said.
The report said the knockoff of the Galaxy S5 - dubbed Goophone S5 - features a 5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 display, 2GHz octa-core MediaTek chip and 2GB RAM.
It also has 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, dual-SIM slots, 32GB storage and a 2,800mAh battery.
A separate report on 9to5google.com said the knockoff was the second since the company made a cheap iPhone - actually a low-end handset that runs on Google's Android.
"Don’t expect the same performance from the 2GHz octa-core MediaTek chip, however, and the quality of the screen is unlikely to stand close scrutiny," it added. — VC, GMA News
