Leaked LG screenshots suggest concierge service

The G3, LG's upcoming flagship smartphone, may have a higher-resolution display and a new "Concierge" service, a tech site reported this week.

Digital Trends cited three screenshots from a "trusted industry source" showing the new redesigned LG G3 interface:

"Notably, the screenshots came to us with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, which is near confirmation that the G3 will have a stunning 1440p resolution screen. LG will be the first major smartphone vendor to push a higher screen resolution in more than a year," it said.

It added the screens show the phone will have:

  • flatter and brighter icons
  • a revamped weather widget with built-in suggestions
  • a cleaner looking notifications screen
  • circular icons (a new trend)

DT also likened the changes between G3's new screen and that of the G Pro 2 to the change between Apple's iOS 6 and iOS 7, with the older G2's interface looking "old and outdated."

Concierge feature

Digital Trends said the new "concierge" feature will "collect information from various sources and observe how you use the phone, then provide recommendations based on all that data."

It added the “concierge” in the updated AccuWeather app will give the user tips, such as to carry an umbrella. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
