Zack Snyder teases new Batmobile design
By TIM G. VILLASOR
With work still being put into production for the next film that serves as the primary building block for a DC Cinematic Universe in the big screen, director Zack Snyder has unveiled a pretty slick teaser image in his official Twitter account of what appears to be the newest incarnation of the Batmobile, which Ben Affleck’s Batman will most certainly drive when he fights crime in the as-of-yet officially untitled “Batman Vs Superman” film slated for 2016.

The image, showing a partially revealed vehicle that’s colored in black and sporting the familiar design worthy of the Caped Crusader’s tastes, was shown in Snyder’s most recent post in the social media site. Accompanying the pic were the words “Could be time to pull the tarp… Tomorrow?”, which most certainly signifies the Man of Steel director’s attempts to spice things up and show one of the first official images and eye candy for the film since it was announced in last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. From the image alone, the Batmobile is returning to its more “sleeker and stylish” look that was present in the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher Batman films of old, departing from the realistic bulky look the Tumbler had in Christopher Nolan’s Batman film Trilogy.
Originally scheduled for a July 17, 2015 release, the “Batman Vs Superman” film was pushed back and given a new release date of May 6, 2016, in order to “give the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story”. Henry Cavill will be reprising his role in the film as Clark Kent/ Superman, while Argo actor and director Ben Affleck steps up as the new version of Bruce Wayne/ Batman following Christian Bale’s portrayal in Christopher Nolan’s highly successful Dark Knight Trilogy of films. Fast and the Furious series star Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman, while Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons have been added to play Lex Luthor and Alfred Pennyworth in the film respectively.
