Google shows rainbow banner for LGBT-related searches

Google is giving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community a nod for Pride Month in June by running a rainbow banner for LGBT-related searches.

Enthusiast site 9to5google.com noted the rainbow banner shows up when it typed queries from LGBT to "gay pride" and even "marriage equality."

"June was declared LGBT Pride Month by US President Barack Obama in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, as well as this year," the site noted.

It said the rainbow shows up for queries such as LGBT, LA pride, SF pride, gay pride, and marriage equality.

The site also said this move was the second show of support for the LGBT community, after a doodle earlier this year showing support for LGBT Olympians.

Also this month, YouTube posted a video promoting equality in time for the World Cup.  — Joel Locsin /LBG/TJD, GMA News
