New video of iPhone 6 housing surfaces, hints at radical redesign

A new video of Apple's upcoming iPhone 6 surfaced this week, giving more clues into the features of the popular smartphone's latest version.

The video by iCrackUriDevice noted a circular cutout for the camera flash and pill-shaped volume buttons, as well as a cutout for the Apple logo on the rear housing.

It was also larger than the housing of the iPhone 5, as the iPhone 6 is expected to have a bigger display.

However, iCrackUriDevice also noted the housing he got could not yet be the final production unit as it lacked the "iPhone" text on those of previous iPhones.

Enthusiast site 9to5mac.com said that while there is still no solid proof at this time that Apple is making parts with this design, the design "does match up with other dummy units and rumored schematics we’ve seen up to this point."

"It’s also noted that the alleged iPhone 6 housing appears to have a recessed area on the inside which could indicate that Apple has plans to use a logo inlay as we’ve seen with its current generation iPad models," it added.

But 9to5mac.com said the housing also features "the same (ugly) antenna breaks we’ve seen on all of the mockups so far."

"There’s no way to tell if these parts are genuine, but the layout designed for internal components does seem pretty intricate," it said.

It also said it is not discounting the possibility the housing in the video may have been for iPhone 6 clones that have surfaced.
