The next-generation iPad Air might look like this

 

Apple's iPad Air may have a redesigned speaker and recessed controls—that is, if alleged photos of the next-generation tablet's rear shell are accurate.

 

Enthusiast site 9to5mac.com cited images posted on China's Weibo social networking platform showing the frame with a redesigned speaker, recessed volume controls, and a new microphone next to the camera lens.

 

"The photos do not show us much else, but they do provide some additional confirmation that a new iPad Air is on its way, and that the new tablet will not like much different than the current generation," it said.

 

Other rumored features of the next iPad include a the iPhone's Touch ID fingerprint scanner and a faster A8 processor.

 

Also, the site noted photos of supposed physical mockups for the next-generation iPad Air had appeared on the web showing some tweaks. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
