Internet Explorer slower than usual? It could be that last update

Is Internet Explorer running really slow after you dutifully installed the updates for it in last week's Patch Tuesday? Yup, you guessed it: the problem is in the update.

Microsoft issued a bulletin noting the MS14-037 or MS14-051 cumulative security updates for IE may allow web apps that implement consecutive dialog boxes to slow IE.

"(W)eb applications that implement consecutive modal dialog boxes may cause Internet Explorer to become slow and unresponsive over time. This issue occurs in Internet Explorer versions 7 through 11," it said.

A separate article on PC World said Microsoft has issued a hotfix for IE, for "basically every major version."
