WATCH: This PS4 laptop's got game
Who needs Windows- or even Mac-based gaming laptops when you could have one running nothing less than Sony's PlayStation 4?
A modder has turned the popular PlayStation 4 console into a portable computer dubbed the "PlayBook 4."
"Its all been designed in 3D and then manufactured by me using 3D printers, Laser Cutters and CNC Machinery to give a great looking design. Its simple, yet detailed. The system just screams play me!" he said.
He said he assembled the machine using glue, screws and chemical cements.
"Inside this unit is a Sony PlayStation 4. The PS4 has not been altered in any way that would be illegal on the PlayStation Network. It has no performance modification or enhancements. The PLAYBOOK is simply just a plastic case that holds a PS4 inside with a LCD Screen," he said.
Gamers who are not satisfied with the modified laptop's screen can play on a bigger screen using an HDMI-out port to connect to a large-screen TV.
But here's the catch: the notebook does not have a battery, and must be plugged into an electrical outlet.
"These game consoles are just not designed to run on batteries, sorry guys!" he said.
Gamers wanting one of these PlayBooks may have to shell out $1,395 for a PlayBook 4 without HDMI OUT. The model with HDMI out will cost an extra $50. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
