Global Gmail glitch hits users Wednesday
For more than an hour Wednesday afternoon (PHL time), users of Google's trusty Gmail service were plagued with problems sending mail to some of their contacts.
Many Gmail users were greeted with an error message that some of their contacts were "temporarily unavailable."
A support page said this meant autocomplete may not work and the contact manager may not load, or even Gmail chat may not work (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/106432?hl=en).
However, Gmail apparently could still send mail to "inaccessible" contacts.
Still, several Gmail users took to Twitter to air their dismay over the situation.
Is gmail experiencing major problems for anyone else? I can't access my contacts, some emails fail to send, and it's exceedingly slow...

Oh bother... "Gmail is temporarily unable to access your Contacts. You may experience issues while this persists."

While Gmail appeared to return to normal for some users as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Google's Apps Status dashboard indicated a service disruption for Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Talk.
It said it was investigating the issue, though service had been restored for some users past 4 p.m.
Google also noted an issue with Google Drive. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
