HBO's GoT actors to voice Telltale's game adaptation
By MATTHEW ARCILLA
Telltale Games announced that their narrative-driven game adaptation of "Game of Thrones," will feature some of the main cast members of the HBO television series.
"Today we can announce that some cast members of the series will reprise their roles in the game," read the official press release from the developers of "The Walking Dead" and "Wolf Among Us."
"While players will control five members of House Forrester in their story, the series will have them interacting with fan favorite characters throughout the season, including Tyrion Lannister performed by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister performed by Lena Headey, Margaery Tyrell performed by Natalie Dormer, and Ramsay Snow performed by Iwan Rheon," they added.
Telltale also unveiled the first trailer for this episodic game, which will consist of six chapters that take place towards the end of season three of the HBO series and just before the start of season five. As previously reported, 'Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series,' will explore House Forrester. Players will control various members of this house from the Wolfwood in the north of Westeros, and loyal to the Starks.
According to the press release: "The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood. The Forrester house words are 'Iron from Ice,' which echoes their belief that — like the ironwood itself — the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger."
Each of the characters that players will control will be working to try and save House Forrester from destruction during the War of the Five Kings. Telltale has already revealed some of these characters. Polygon was informed of Mira Forrester, the eldest daughter whose "straightforward Northern ways are often at odds with the subtleties of court life." Gamespot received information about Ethan, the third-born son who is "drawn to pursuits of the mind, particularly music and books."
Telltale has made its mark as a singular provider of compelling episodic narratives in videogame form, and with five playable characters it remains to be seen whether they can sustain character development across the series. Six episodes (rather than Telltale's customary five) are scheduled, with the first, "Iron from Ice," set to premiere in December, following November's 'Tales from the Borderlands.'
"The actions of one character can ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester," reads the press release. "Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you're truly playing the Game of Thrones ... where you win, or you die." — TJD, GMA News
