Happy 20th birthday, PlayStation! Sony celebrates with retro PS4

How do you celebrate the 20th birthday of a gaming icon like Sony's original PlayStation?

 

Offer the latest PlayStation but in the original version's colors, of course.

 

And that's exactly what Sony did - roll out a nostalgic commemorative edition of the PS4, using the original's colors.

 

"To celebrate 20 years of PlayStation, we’ve created a very special limited edition PS4. Check out the unboxing video," it said in a YouTube video.

 

 

But only 12,300 of these will be sold worldwide, for Y49,980 in Japan, or $499 in North America, and €499 in Europe, The Verge reported.

 

The Verge added the PS4 and accessories - painted in the same shade of gray as the original PlayStation - will be bundled in a special box.
