WordPress Android app gets interface redesign

Good news for WordPress bloggers using phones or tablets running Google's Android: the publishing platform's app has been updated and now has the Material Design treatment.

 

With the Material Design format, the new WordPress app is now one with the feel of Android Lollipop, Android Police reported.

 

Android Police said WordPress now has a darker shade of blue throughout the interface, along with round avatars and a new grid layout for the media library on tablets.

 

"The experience is simple in the way that we've come to expect from Lollipop apps, and in the case of a blogging client, that's probably a good thing," it said.

 

The new app also attempts to auto-complete a person's username as it is typed.

 

Other changes include a fetch blog visibility status on first login, along with bug fixes.

 

"At the end of the day, the experience doesn't look fundamentally different, but you get a full hamburger menu, a floating action button, and a sidebar that slides out on top of everything else," it said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
