Rideable mecha for sale on Amazon

Attention, mecha enthusiasts: if you have a little over Y120 million (over P45.6 million) to burn, you might want to bid online for a real-life mech robot.

The offer for just one unit of the Kuratasu mech was placed on Amazon Japan and remained live as of posting time.

It said the robot weighed about 5,000 kilos but had been available on Amazon Japan since December 2013.

Tech site Slashgear said the mech uses a tripod system with wheels on each leg, and had a tiny cockpit for its pilot.

A pilot can control it via motion controls and a touchscreen, or use a remote control.

Its top speed is 6 mph via a diesel engine.

"The original mech was fitted with weapons such as a launcher that shoots water bottles and twin Gatling guns that can shoot 6000 BBs per minute," it added. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
