Remote control your Chromebook via an iPhone

Google is testing an updated version of its new remote desktop sharing app to let users control Chromebooks via an iPhone or iPad.

Developer Francois Beaufort said Google is testing support for this feature in Chrome OS, but only on its development channel.

"There is no need to enable a flag for that. Simply launch the Chrome Remote Desktop¹ App and click on the 'Share' green button. Communicate the generated access code to your friend and enjoy the smooth Remote Assistance experience there," Beaufort said in a Google+ post.

Chrome OS is the net-centric operating system that runs Google's lower-cost Chromebooks.

PC World said this feature could come in handy, such as when "providing support to new Chrome OS users or ad-hoc screen sharing."

But it said it remains unclear when the feature might show up in stable builds.

In the meantime, it said users could switch over to the Chrome OS developer channel but it said the version there could be buggy. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
