Lonely this Valentine’s? Try the ‘invisible boyfriend’ app
Lonely this coming Valentine's Day? There's an app to drive away loneliness.
Meet the Invisible Boyfriend, an app that won't give you a physical boyfriend but will make a virtual one for you in your social networking circles.
"Put simply, this platform helps you create credible, reasonable stories that you can bring home to curious mom, your buddies, and coworkers. These stories are backed by virtual and real-world social proof," its developers said.
According to the developer, the app is for those who had been "trapped and forced to tell a lie, then another, until even you don’t know the truth" as far as relationships go.
It can also come in handy for people deployed overseas, or focusing on a promotion.
"In essence, your boyfriend will be someone you’re not ashamed to bring home to mom, a homebody bridging the gap between Plain Jane and a wildcard. Our boyfriends are credible proof who are obtainable and believable," the developers said.
Auto-texting
Presently, the developers have designed a lightweight auto-texting service to simulate real-time conversations.
"Over time, we’ll continue to develop unique ways to communicate with phone calls, voicemails, and texting to accommodate our members," they said.
"We want to help you create lifelike stories that you know inside and out for your boyfriend. We will have pictures available, customizable backstories, and other systems in place to keep the invisible factor as discreet as possible," they added.
Meanwhile, future plans include gifts, personalized notes, flower deliveries, and social media connections – but there are no plans to venture into sexting/naked pics at least for now. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
