LOOK: Are these photos of the 12-inch Macbook Air?

Here's something to whet Apple fans' appetite: photos of what could be the lid and display of Apple's upcoming 12-inch MacBook Air laptop have leaked online.

 

Enthusiast site 9to5mac.com said the photos posted on Chinese-language site iFanr could be further proof of the upcoming variant of Apple's portable computer.
 

But it said there is no sign of the bottom case for the new device, to prove a rumored single-port configuration.

 

The iFanr photos showed the MacBook Air compared to other current Apple devices like the iPad and present MacBooks.

 

Doubts

 

But the site also noted a cause of doubt is that the Apple logo on the back of the lid does not light up, unlike existing MacBooks.

 

In its place is a polished metal logo on the iPad.

 

"Of course, this may actually end up being Apple’s real design direction, allowing the laptop’s design to fit better with Apple’s other devices and possibly accommodating a thinner design," it said. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
