Oppo Mirror 3 is a budget ‘selfie machine’ for everyone

Finally, a selfie machine for the masses.

Smartphone maker Oppo is rolling out the Mirror 3, its newest 64-bit smartphone with a tag price of P10,990.

"No matter day or night, the image quality is greatly enhanced as a result of increased CMOS sensitivity, higher resolution, and effective filtering for infrared light," Oppo said.

With a 4.7-inch screen, the Mirror 3 has an ergonomic arc so the phone can fit into the palm.

But its main attraction is an 8-MP Sony IMX179 Backside Illuminated (BSI) sensor, with a sensor size of 1/3.2 inches and a pixel size of 1.4μm, and a F/2.0 aperture.

Aside from the camera hardware, Mirror 3 has software that has the Beautify function "that will turn your phone into a selfie machine!"

The Oppo phone also has a new Pure Image Engine, which serves as the camera's brain.

It also said an intuitive and pick-up-and-play format lets users "turn their photos from idea to reality."

Other photo options include Snap Shot, Double Exposure, and the selfie-centric Beautify Mode 3.0.

Meanwhile, the phone has a Smart Remote Technology 2.0+ that supports transfer protocols with infrared receiving devices.

With it, one can control appliances like televisions and air conditioners.

The Mirror 3 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 1.2GHz 64-bit Quad-core processor and an Adreno306 graphics processor, along with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM.

Other features include dual SIM card support and a custom ColorOS 2.0.1 operating system based on Android 4.4. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
