Google offers virtual tour of 3 PHL sites for Holy Week staycation

Filipinos going on a staycation this Holy Week may want to visit at least three historic Philippine sites in Manila.

The three – Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego, and Plaza San Luis Complex – are in Google's list of 10 "breathtaking wonders" to see this Holy Week.

"Real or man-made, the Philippines’ top 10 most-searched Street View Special Collections destinations of the past year are captivating and travel-bucket-list-worthy," Google said.

But even if Filipinos don't have the funds to make the trip, Google's got them covered, via its Street View rendering of the three sites.

According to Google, landmarks with rich cultural histories fascinated Filipino virtual explorers the most.

"Pinoys delighted in man-made structures representing freedom, love and power, with Fort Santiago topping the list. Out of the seven countries listed, home remains a top choice for Pinoys to explore as two other historical landmarks in Intramuros also appear on the set," it added.

The 10 destinations Filipinos searched for most on Street View include:
