The Apple Watch scratches easily –but here's how to fix it

Not even the stainless steel Apple Watch, the tech darling's new wearable bauble, is immune to scratches after all.

Some owners of the watch have posted photos showing scratches on the casing, enthusiast site 9to5mac.com reported.

"Since Apple’s videos touted its steel as specially cold-forged to achieve superior hardness, people have been surprised to discover that the finish is easily scratched – many comparing it to the back of an iPod," it said.

It added some buyers were concerned over the scratches after parting with $549 (P24,288) or more for it.

However, the site said this is not surprising since stainless steel is scratchable in the first place.

Even the type of steel on Rolex casings can be "scratched, scuffed, and show normal signs of wear and tear," it added.

The site also noted that while some local watch repair shops can buff the casing for between $20 and $40, "others didn’t want to risk touching the brand new Watch, because they were concerned about damaging other components."

It added those wanting to polish the watch should be careful "not to get the polishing cream into the Watch’s little holes, and shouldn’t polish so frequently or deeply that the steel gets worn down."

At least for the stainless steel version, here's how you can remove or at least minimize scratches:
