LOOK: Luke Skywalker shares real-life family photos on ‘Return of the Jedi’ set

Luke Skywalker dancing around with Emperor Palpatine? Luke sitting on the Emperor's throne? Or Luke's son sitting on the throne? Believe it because Luke's got the photos to prove it.

Mark Hamill, the actor who played the hero in the original "Star Wars" trilogy, shared online photos of his real-life family at the set of "Return of the Jedi," which hit theaters in 1983.

Hamill posted the 30-plus-year-old photos on StarWars.com Monday. StarWars.com said the photos were from the Hamill family's collection.

The photos showed him, his wife Marilou and son Nathan during the filming of "Return of the Jedi" – and posing for photos in such classic sets as Yoda's hut and the Emperor's throne room.

Among the photos are (see photos):

- Hamill, his wife and son in Yoda's hut
- Hamill and Nathan with Frank Oz (Yoda)
- Nathan hiding inside the R2-D2 costume
- Nathan projecting Force Lightning in the Emperor's throne room
- Hamill and Nathan separately posing for photos while seated on the Emperor's throne

But among the most interesting photos was one where Hamill together with Ian McDiarmid (the Emperor) and Denis Lawson (Wedge Antilles). The caption? "Peace in the galaxy."

A separate article on The Verge said the 35-year-old photos are seen in public for the first time on StarWars.com.

"Of course, none of it's canon — Luke married Mara Jade, as everyone knows — but it certainly is cute," it said.  — Joel Locsin/LBG/TJD, GMA News
