‘Middle finger’ emoji coming to Windows 10

Microsoft has something for the naughty in its upcoming Windows 10 operating system: the middle finger, and in several skin tones to boot.
Emojipedia said this is among the newest updates to Microsoft's list of emojis for Windows 10, due for release later this year.
It said the updated emojis include:
- reversed hand with middle finger extended
- face With OK gesture with black skin tone
- flushed face
- information deskperson with cream white skin tone
Middle finger Unicode
"The middle finger emoji was approved as part of Unicode 7 in mid-2014, yet has curiously remained absent from iOS, OS X, Android, and Windows. Until now," it said.

Emoji support on Windows dates back to 2012, with Windows 8. Windows 7 had no emoji support.
Emojipedia also said Windows presently displays gray-skinned people as the race-neutral default.
In contrast, Google and Apple use yellow as the default skin tone.
Vulcan salute
Meanwhile, Microsoft has added the Vulcan salute - a raised hand parting the middle and ring fingers - for Windows 10.
Windows 10 will also include a raised hand with fingers splayed.
Brave move
Tech site The Verge said this middle finger emoji could be the bravest of Microsoft's ambitious plans with Windows 10, which involves having one billion devices running Windows 10.
"Microsoft is the first big tech company to include the middle finger in an operating system. Apple and Google do not yet support it in iOS or Android," it said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
