Here's the specs of Samsung's upcoming waterproof Galaxy S6 Active

Samsung is working on a waterproof version of its Galaxy S6 smartphone if leaked photos are accurate, a tech site reported.

The tough variant of the Korean firm's latest Android-powered flagship smartphone sports a bulkier waterproof body, T3.com said.

It said GSM Arena and serial leaker @evleaks posted photos of the device.

Also, T3 cited other specs that include:

  • a larger 3,500 mAh battery, up from the S6’s 2,600mAh unit
  • a camera and heart rate monitor in the same place as the S6, but with speaker moved to the back from the bottom
  • three ruggedized buttons on the front.
  • 14-nanometer Exynos 7420 octo-core processor
  • 5.1” QHD Super AMOLED display
  • 16-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing lens

But the ruggedized buttons suggest the toughened device may lack a fingerprint sensor.

On the other hand, T3 said the S6 Active may have a microSD card slot. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
