Sorry na lang: Free Windows 10 upgrade limited to Win7 and later
Sorry, XP and Vista users. The free upgrade to Microsoft's Windows 10 starting late July may not be for you.
Microsoft reiterated the upgrade to its upcoming flagship operating system will be only for those with machines running Windows 7 or higher.
"Windows 10 will be available as a free upgrade to people using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1... enabling hundreds of millions of people around the world to upgrade to Windows 10 for free," it said.
Earlier, Microsoft announced Windows 10 will be available starting July 29 in 190 countries.
Microsoft executive vice president Terry Myerson said Windows 10 "starts to deliver on our vision of more personal computing, defined by trust in how we protect and respect your personal information, mobility of the experience across your devices, and natural interactions with your Windows devices, including speech, touch, ink and holograms.”
Myerson said users can reserve a free Windows 10 upgrade now through a simple reservation process. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
