Browse GMA News Online for free through the Internet.org app

Beginning this June, users will be able to access GMA News Online through Facebook's Internet.org app.
Smart and Talk 'N Text subscribers can begin browsing GMA News Online for free on June 9 through the Internet.org app or through their browsers. Anyone with a mobile phone or SIM-enabled tablet can access the stories from the site without incurring any additional data charges.
Android users can download the Internet.org app from the Google Play store or visit Internet.org from a mobile browser.

With this development, GMA News Online brings to Internet.org its award-winning news aimed at a global Filipino audience, with stories spanning local and international news; developments in science and technology; the latest buzz in sports and entertainment; and other topics of Pinoy interest.
Internet.org is a Facebook-led initiative aimed at connecting the two-thirds of the world who do not have Internet access. Internet.org’s mission is to empower people by offering access to free basic services likebasic tools for education, communication, health and work-related resources.
At the launch, Markku Makelainen, director of global operator partnerships at Facebook, noted that the app is a tool to “address the barriers that prevent people from prevent people fromconnecting and joining the knowledge economy.”
In the Philippines, TNT, Smart and Sun subscribers can access the Internet.org app. TNT subscribers who are Android phone users may download the Internet.org app on Google Play Store or visit Internet.org from a mobile browser, while non-Android users may access the site by typing www.internet.org on their mobile browser. They may also text INTERNET to 9999 or visit talkntext.com.ph/internetorg for step-by-step instructions. —JST, GMA News
