You need to download and install latest Flash patch now
Unless they want to risk having someone hijack their machines, computer users will have to download and install soonest the latest patch for Adobe's Flash software.
Adobe Systems fixed 13 security issues in the Flash Player software that could potentially allow attackers to access their data and take control of their computers, PC World said.
Users should upgrade to Flash Player 18.0.0.160 for Windows and Mac, Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.466 for Linux, or Flash Player 13.0.0.292 if they are on the extended support release channel.
"Six of the new vulnerabilities patched in Flash Player could be exploited to achieve remote code execution. These are the kind of vulnerabilities used in drive-by download attacks launched through compromised websites or malicious ads to install malware on users’ computers," it said.
The latest update also fixes four vulnerabilities that if exploited can access data in another open browser tab.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x and Google Chrome on Windows, Linux and Mac will automatically get the Flash Player update.
Meanwhile, Adobe also updated its AIR runtime on Windows, Mac and Android, and AIR SDK and Compiler—programs that bundle Flash Player. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
