Leaked images hint at ‘water-resistant’ Moto G

The next Moto G smartphone may be a water-resistant device, if new images leaked online are accurate.
An image of a dummy device as posted on MobileSyrup showed the upcoming Moto G would have IPx7 certification.
"New for the Moto G series is IPx7 water resistance, which should allow slight submersion and rain or moisture exposure," it said.
Also, MobileSyrup noted some key improvements over last year’s model, including:
- a 1.4Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor
- 13MP camera with dual LED flash
- 5MP front-facing camera
- a 2,470 mAh battery.
- 5-inch 720p display
- 1GB RAM
A separate report on 9to5google.com said the upcoming Moto G may support 4G LTE.
It also noted IPX7 certification is a common rating for small electronics that might get exposed to some of the elements.
This is the same rating the Apple Watch has, it added.
"(I)t means the phone can withstand exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes," it added. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
