Microsoft will give you a ninja cat on a T-rex if you're a Windows Insider

Software testers who gave their time and effort to shape Windows 10 are getting a reward from Microsoft—sort of.
Microsoft’s Gabe Aul posted images of a ninja cat riding a steed as “fun background/lock screen images” to help celebrate the launch of Windows 10.
“One thing that is amazing about the internet is that it seems to be powered entirely by cats. And we’ve noticed our Windows Insiders having a lot of fun with a particular cat… the ninjacat. It’s been so fun to see Insiders rally around the ninjacat as a fun icon for Windows 10 and for Microsoft,” Aul said in a blog post.
“Be creative, mix and match, and show your excitement for win10 by tweeting them with #windows10 #ninjacat and we’ll post some of our favorites too,” he added.
Aul said the original ninja cat stemmed from the “Welcome to the Internet” image by Jason Heuser.
“While the ninja cat started out as just a fun little internal joke, it’s been pretty neat to see our Windows Insiders and Windows and Microsoft fans really enjoying our version of it. We were fortunately able to connect with Jason and wanted to give him props for his amazing work in creating this design and inspiring us,” he said.
Skype easter egg
Meanwhile, Aul hinted at an Easter egg in Microsoft’s videoconferencing software Skype.
A separate report on PC World said the ninja cat has three custom steeds: the original unicorn, a narwhal with bacon impaled upon his horn, and a fierce Tyrannosaurus Rex.
“Microsoft formatted each of the images in different resolutions for different device form factors, from a massive 3840 x 2160 down to the 310 x 102 format used as a background for the Microsoft Band,” it said.
PC World added that while Microsoft’s image had been no-nonsense and without any public sense of humor, Windows 10 was crafted in conjunction with the community, “and the culture surrounding it has adopted some of the give and take.”
“So it’s not surprising to see some of humor leak into the Windows 10 release, too,” it said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
