Street Fighter V brings back fan favorite Vega

Fans eagerly looking forward to the next chapter of Capcom’s long running Street Fighter franchise will be happy to know that another classic fighter is making his return to the series, as Street Fighter II’s own “Spanish Ninja” and Shadowloo agent Vega has been confirmed as the 9th character to be added to the roster of Street Fighter V.

Sporting a new costume but staying true to his obsession with beauty, Vega comes back to the fighting arena of the World Warriors with a look that compliments his matador roots. However, Capcom has changed the character’s moves to a point where players are given the option to sheath his trademark claw or use it in battle,   changing his playstyle for Street Fighter V. His V-Skill and V-Trigger moves are deadly to look at and are effective ways of unleashing brutal damage when used correctly. If Vega loses his claw by taking hits during the course of battle, he can’t pick it up anymore, making it crucial for players to consider strategy when unleashing his trademark weapon or not.

As one of the returning fighters from the series that will please veterans and users of the character, Vega joins the likes of Ken and M. Bison, who have been given changes both visually and to their own respective fighting styles. It remains to be seen who else Street Fighter series producer Yoshinori Ono and Capcom will announce to fill out the remaining slots for the 16 characters confirmed for game launch next year, but it’s good to know that most of the fan favorites characters are making a comeback in a big way.

Street Fighter V will be released exclusively for Playstation 4 and PC on Spring 2016. — TJD, GMA News
