‘Special Force 2’ closed beta launches in the PHL, SEA

The “Special Force 2” closed beta has just gone live, according to Asiasoft. With the Southeast Asian servers now open, players in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore can participate in the closed beta testing starting October 28, 2015.

A free-to-play game, “Special Force 2” is a multiplayer online first-person shooter that boasts a variety of features, from extensive character and weapon customization options to PVE and PVP game modes. Using the Unreal Engine 3 graphics engine, it also comes with upgraded visuals and sounds.

Players are thrust into a world where American and Russian forces are embroiled in a new Cold War. They’ll have several elite factions to choose from, including the American Delta Force, the French GIGN (Groupe d’Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale), the Russian Spetsnaz, and the South Korean UDT (Underwater Demolition Team).

“Special Force 2 is one of the most anticipated games of our community, so we’re both happy and proud to finally open our servers for Closed Beta,” stated Christopher Manlapig, Product Manager and Regional Lead for the game. “We can’t wait for players (to) try out all the awesome new features and experience the realistic graphics that make Special Force 2 such an amazing game."

“With Asiasoft, one of the best game publishers in Asia, we are counting on them to deliver great service for Special Force 2 in Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore,” said Dragonfly CEO, Mr. Park. “Dragonfly has built up our own localization know-how since Special Force became successful all over the world, so we will continue to provide high-quality and unique content to satisfy Special Force 2 players 100% in those markets.”

South Korean game developer Dragonfly created the original “Special Force,” which launched in South Korea in 2004, North America in 2007 (where it was called "Soldier Front"), and the Philippines in 2008.

Dragonfly is also behind “Special Force 2.” It was published in the Philippines by PlayPark.
